Famille Rose Figural Story Covered Jar — Auspicious 'Five...

Description A generously proportioned jar of pleasingly rounded form, crowned by a domed lid with finial. The exterior is exquisitely enamelled with a vibrant narrative scene depicting the classic "Five Sons Achieve Honours" motif — a revered symbol of scholarly success, upward mobility and flourishing progeny. Attendant figures hold precious vases, ruyi sceptres and ceremonial emblems, conveying layered blessings: "May All Your Wishes Come True", "Great Joy and Abundant Blessings", and enduring good fortune. The painting is lively and finely detailed, with expressive faces, richly patterned robes and a harmonious palette of rose, turquoise, iron-red, gilded and sepia tones — all executed against a smooth, luminous white glaze. A beautifully conceived and auspiciously charged piece. Dimensions: Total height: approx. 24.5 cm Maximum circumference: approx. 75 cm Condition Three fine glaze fissures visible inside the base only — confined to the interior glaze, not penetrating through to the exterior surface; Gentle, even enamel wear and gilding loss consistent with age and normal use; No cracks, chips, hairlines or restoration observable on the exterior; structurally sound and visually impressive.
