Faenza, Maestri maiolicari faentini - Vase - LARGE SIZES - Ceramic

Important two-handled Faenza ceramic amphora, with a slender, gracefully bulging form, characterized by a rich and lively hand-painted polychrome decoration. The body, made of white-glazed ceramic, is decorated in the refined ornamental language of Faenza ceramic tradition, with a composition dominated by a large central floral motif in shades of orange, turquoise, yellow, and blue. Surrounding the main motif are elegant volutes, scrolls, and phytomorphic motifs painted in blue, enriched by small touches of orange and by geometric elements. Particularly interesting is the decoration of the upper part, where the neck is adorned with an elaborate ornamental pattern and the shoulder features a geometric band in blue and orange. A second, more articulated decorative band runs along the lower part of the body, creating a pleasant visual linkage with the central floral motif. The amphora is equipped with two large lateral, S-shaped handles, characterized by an elegant and sinuous form. The circular base is outlined by thin moldings in blue and orange. On the reverse side is the inscription "Maestri maiolicari faentini". A fine-quality production of the 20th century.
