Beautiful and exceptionally atmospheric pair of matching table lamps by Fabas Luce, an Italian lighting brand. The lamps feature an elegant mushroom design and combine a large rounded opal/matte glass shade with a slim metal stem in a brushed finish. The design is simple yet highly distinctive: the generous semi-circular glass shade seems to float above the slim metal stem. The round, low base provides a nicely balanced silhouette. This combination gives the lamps a pronounced Italian design presence, while the design remains calm and timeless at the same time. Atmospheric glass shades The large shades are made of matte/opal glass. When the lamps are switched on, the light is softened and evenly distributed through the glass, creating a pleasant, diffuse ambient light without the light source being directly visible. Especially when both lamps are placed side by side, a particularly beautiful and symmetrical whole emerges. They are therefore excellent as a set on, for example, two nightstands, on a long sideboard, or on both sides of a artwork, mirror or another object. Both lamps equipped with a dimmer A notable detail is that both lamps are separately dimmable. Each lamp has its own control/dimmer in the transparent cords. This allows the light output to be adjusted, so the lamps can be used for both brighter light and soft mood lighting. In the photos the lamps are shown lit and functioning. The transparent dimmer casings partially expose the electronic components and match the functional design of the lamps. Both dimmers have their own on/off switch. Materials and design The lamps consist of a combination of matte glass and metal. The metal parts have a brushed appearance. The round base transitions via a tapered element into a long, slender metal stem. At the top there is the metal support on which the glass shade rests. The proportion between the wide glass shade, thin stem and round base gives the lamps a light and elegant look. Despite the relatively large shade, the overall impression is not heavy. The design strongly evokes the classic mushroom design that has become beloved in European interior styling. Thanks to the neutral materials and simple lines, the lamps are easy to pair with mid-century modern, Space Age, modernist, minimalist and contemporary interior designs. Fabas Luce – Italian Design The set also includes the original Fabas Luce product card/tag. It includes, among other things, the Fabas Luce logo and the inscription “Italian Design.” The round card also illustrates the operation of the lighting and refers to the light control/touch-dimmer in several languages. This original documentation is a nice complement to the set and is also shown in the photos. Condition The lamps are in used condition with signs of wear consistent with prior use. There are a few small spots and signs of wear on the glass shades. Light superficial signs of wear may also be present on the metal parts. The photos have been deliberately taken from various angles and up close so that the execution and condition can be accurately assessed. Also the bases, stems, glass shades, wiring, dimmers and the original Fabas Luce tag have been photographed separately. Both lamps are shown working.
