F. Manzanero - Chitarra Classica de 2^ - - Classical guitar - Spain

Second-tier classical guitar, produced in the Madrid workshop. This Felix Manzanero classical guitar, presumably built in the 1980s, combines the craftsmanship of a master Spanish luthier with a very appealing price/performance ratio. Felix Manzanero is one of Madrid's most renowned guitar makers: the years spent in the Ramirez workshop, the recognitions and the research work on sound that he has always conducted have made his name known worldwide. The “de segunda” models are born from the idea of making the tonal and design principles of the master accessible to a wider audience, built according to his ideas, but in a more affordable series. This specimen dates from the eighties. It cannot be dated precisely because the label does not report the year. It offers exactly what many players appreciate in Manzanero instruments: deep and well-defined basses, clear and singable highs, and a mystical midrange that gives warmth and presence to the sound. The combination of a spruce top and rosewood back and sides produces a harmoniously balanced sound, with good projection and a nuanced tonal behavior, in short: the classic character you expect, but at a price range that is much, much more affordable. The scale length of 650 mm and the nut width of 52 mm offer classic proportions, and playability is very good. The guitar has a straight neck and a pleasantly low string action, further adjustable given the height of the saddle. The instrument is in good condition, but shows honest signs of use and wear. The guitar has been professionally set up and is fully ready to play. It comes with a practical travel case and is shipped with professional packaging.
