Exceptional Spiny Ammonite - Fossilised shell - Rachophyllites sp

Exceptional Spiny Ammonite (Rachophyllites sp.) – Beautifully Preserved Tubercles – Devonian – Timor, Indonesia A striking polished ammonite of the species Rachophyllites sp., dating from the Devonian period and discovered in **Timor, Indonesia**. Carefully prepared to preserve its natural three-dimensional character, this specimen stands out for its **well-developed, sharply defined tubercles**, giving the fossil a bold and highly sculptural appearance. The shell displays a robust morphology with beautifully preserved whorls and a harmonious spiral, while the pronounced spines create an impressive sense of depth and texture. The polished surface reveals a warm natural palette of beige, cream, soft pink, and brown tones, highlighting the fossil's mineralization without diminishing its authentic character. Particularly attractive are the intricate ammonitic suture lines, visible across the surface as delicate organic patterns that contrast beautifully with the stronger relief of the shell. These features illustrate the remarkable complexity of ammonite shell construction and make the specimen equally appealing from both a scientific and aesthetic perspective. With its distinctive spiny ornamentation, excellent preservation, and elegant preparation, this Devonian ammonite is an outstanding addition to any fossil collection, cabinet of curiosities, or natural history display. Transparent display stand included.
