Title: View of Paris School: Impressionist (20th century) Style: Urban Impressionism Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work sits within the tradition of European urban impressionism, with particular influence from French painting dedicated to representing the daily life of Paris. The composition, based on a wide urban perspective populated with small figures, trees, and monumental architecture, recalls the Impressionists' and Post-Impressionists' interest in capturing the changing atmosphere of the streets, squares, and gardens of the French capital. The lively brushwork and the use of small touches of color to suggest the figures reinforce its impressionist character. The composition depicts a lively view of Paris, developed in a large square or urban garden. In the center stands a sculptural monument raised on a large pedestal, around which numerous passersby and small groups of figures are distributed. ㅤ The trees occupy a good part of the foreground and the sides, creating depth and visually framing the scene. In the background there is a succession of buildings with light facades and dark roofs that allow recognition of the typically Parisian character of the surroundings. ㅤ The painting is executed with a loose and spontaneous brushwork, especially noticeable in the foliage, the small figures, and the secondary elements. Ocher, greens, grays and cream tones predominate, accompanied by small accents of brighter colors that add dynamism to the scene. The work is presented with a wide gold frame of a classical character, richly ornamented with reliefs inspired by Baroque and Rococo. The large vegetal decorations and volutes in the corners stand out, as well as the ornamental motifs distributed around the entire moulding.
