Jewelry box by Erhard & Söhne. The prestigious metalware company Erhard & Söhne was based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, a town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg (about 50 kilometers east of Stuttgart). The company was founded there in 1844 by Carl Gottlieb Erhard and his two sons. The historic factory was located on Bocksgasse in the city centre. Estimated period of the jewelry box: 1850-1900. Material: brass Barely used with minimal signs of use and aging given its age. The lid features rich relief with angels, vines and ornamental decor. The box is lined inside with wood. Dimensions: 5 x 16.5 x 12 cm Technique: brass casting with embossed decoration. Carefully packed and shipped promptly.
