Todas las subastas / Varios / Ercole Barovier - Dish - Glass

Rare Ercole Barovier piece, made in iridescent light-blue glass with a pink edge. On the back there is the Barovier fire stamp, which also confirms it was made of Murano glass, and the presence of the gold leaf stamp on the base guarantees authenticity, preventing it from being confused with a generic unsigned piece. Very rare item from the 1940s/1950s. The mark reads the wording "BAROVIER GLASS MURANO" (a mark attributed to the famous Barovier & Toso glassworks or to productions of the Barovier family). Origin: Murano, Italy (Venice). Producer: Barovier Family (historic Murano glass dynasty, best known for the Barovier & Toso signature). Material: Murano artistic glass Inscription: The hot-applied gold-leaf stamp on the base bears the clear words BAROVIER, GLASS MURANO. Marks of this type with English text ("GLASS") were predominantly used starting from the mid-20th century. This mark is particular, a hot stamp with gold leaf, because unlike the more common Murano marks (which are adhesive paper/aluminum labels or signatures incised with a diamond point like "Barovier & Toso Murano"), in this case it is a stamp applied with gold leaf/powder on the glass base. The English wording "GLASS" indicates stamping applied mainly for productions intended for export (e.g., English-speaking markets in the 1940s-1950s). Because it is a superficial gold leaf finish (not a deep engraving), it can wear away with use and cleaning, which is why it is rare to find perfectly intact examples. Gold leaf stamp: The presence of the mark on the base guarantees authenticity, preventing it from being confused with a generic unsigned piece. Dimensions Diameter 18 cm Tracked shipping
