Mid-Century Ceramic Wall Plaque / Dish – Elio Schiavon & Gunter Erhart (S.K.K.) – 1960s/70s Beautiful and rare elongated ceramic dish (also usable as a wall panel), arising from the iconic collaboration between the renowned Italian ceramic artist Elio Schiavon (1925–2004) and Gunter Erhart, founder of the workshop S.K.K. (Südtiroler Kunstkeramik) in South Tyrol. This object is a textbook example of Mid-Century Modern ceramic art from the 60s/70s. The piece is immediately recognizable by Schiavon's characteristic expressionist style: a robust, roughened texture in the clay combined with a thick applied glaze (alla moda relief). The design features a beautifully stylized floral motif in deep cobalt blue tones and vibrant orange, wonderfully contrasting with the cream-white background.
