Elastolin - Figure - Seltene Original Elastolin / Lineol - Kompanie - WWII u.a

Rare original Elastolin / Lineol - German Company - WWII among others (see pictures) 17 x soldiers among others / rare figures Elastolin: mass figures were already produced around 1880 in Austria by the Vienna-based company Emil Pfeiffer, which became world-famous due to the "loving and colorful painting" of its figures. Around 1900 production began in Germany. Similar to tin figures, it covered an enormous range of subjects, but predominantly military toys. Accessories such as vehicles were usually made of tin, sometimes there were mixed forms, for example tin coaches with crews and horses made of mass. Since other manufacturers mostly adhered to the size conventions of Hausser, the products were often intercompatible. Because many manufacturers did not only specialize in military toys but also depicted organizations and leadership of the NS regime in their figures, after World War II resuming production in all occupation zones of Germany was difficult. Lineol until 1945 The Lineol Aktiengesellschaft was founded in 1906 by Oskar Wilhelm Wiederholz in Brandenburg an der Havel. As early as 1903 he developed the mass required, which in contrast to the mass of the competitor Elastolin also contains linseed oil and pine resin. Co-responsible for Lineol's success was the Berlin artist Albert Caasmann, who since 1909 designed the figures' wax templates. He became chief modeler in 1919 under Wiederholz and was head of figure production until 1952. In the 1930s, LINEOL AG employed 300 to 400 staff. A high level of detail in the figures was responsible for the rapid success of the figures. The animals of the Berlin Zoo served as models for the wildlife figures. Two famous examples from the animal figure production are the hippo Knautschke and the gorilla "Bobby," which Albert Caasmann immortalized in miniature. Besides mass figures, Lineol produced high-quality tin toys. The figures were available in different scales/sizes (from 17 cm to 4 cm), with the 7.5 cm size eventually becoming predominant. The mass figures of Lineol are distinguished from Hausser's figures (brand Elastolin) by a rectangular base. Very beautiful collection of detailed figures. A must for every collector.
