Interesting work belonging to the Spanish late-impressionist school of the 20th century, featuring a lively beach scene in which different figures rest, stroll and converse by the sea. The composition is structured by broad horizontal bands that clearly differentiate sand, shore, sea and sky, while the numerous human figures introduce a dynamic and spontaneous rhythm. In the foreground, several seated characters form the main nucleus of the scene, while other small figures are distributed progressively toward the coast, reinforcing the sense of depth. From a stylistic point of view, the painting is characterized by a free, direct and markedly pictorial execution. The figures are not built through meticulous drawing, but through quick brushstrokes and color patches that synthesize postures, clothing and movements with notable economy of means. The work participates in the post-impressionist tradition, especially through the autonomy granted to color and an interpretation of reality that goes beyond mere naturalistic capture. The artist deliberately simplifies forms and uses chromatic contrasts to structure the composition. Particularly attractive is the treatment of the Mediterranean, constructed with successive bands of deep blue, turquoise, green and white. The clear brushstrokes representing the foam of the waves stand out energetically against the blues of the water and convey an immediate sense of movement. In the lower area prevail ochers, ivories and pinks of the sand, enriched by greens and blues applied with great freedom. Against this base, the figures stand out thanks to intense accents of black, white, red, orange and green. The broad and visible brushstroke, formal simplification and certain color contrasts also reveal Fauvist and Expressionist resonances, particularly in the way color is used as a constructive and expressive element, without the work ever relinquishing its figurative character. The scene also connects with the important Spanish tradition of representing life by the sea, albeit interpreted from a modern sensibility: rather than a detailed description of the characters, it is especially about capturing the luminosity, movement and vitality of a day at the beach. The result is a luminous, dynamic painting with great chromatic richness, in which the seascape and human presence are integrated through spontaneous and expressive execution. Because of its formal characteristics, the work can be cataloged within the 20th-century Spanish post-impressionist school, with certain affinities to Fauvism and Expressionist figuration. The condition of conservation should be carefully assessed using the photographs provided, which are an integral part of the description and allow appreciating the signs of age and use.
