Ca. AD 1550 - 1650 A gold ring with a broad openwork hoop composed of horizontal wire bands joined by vertical ribs and decorated with applied granulation. The raised rectangular bezel is set with a faceted emerald within a plain gold collet, surrounded by clusters of gold granules arranged in geometric patterns.
