ROLEX – ROYAL EMERALD LUXE | Art Chessboard No. 3/30 Between prestige watchmaking, contemporary sculpture and decorative art, « Royal Emerald » is a work designed as a true collectible object. Its deep green, mother-of-pearl white and gold universe features a majestic mechanical seahorse inspired by the workings of haute horlogerie, at the heart of a spectacular and refined composition. The 40 × 40 cm board, made on Alu-Dibond aluminum, offers a glossy finish that intensifies the emerald hues and golden details. The 32 resin pieces are manufactured, prepared and hand-painted in the artist’s studio. Their twisted, openwork shapes evoke the intricate movements of a watch mechanism. The contrast between the green pieces with touches of gold and the champagne-colored metal pieces gives the whole a luxurious, immediately recognizable presence. This creation is number 1 in a limited edition of only 30 copies.
