Dogon horseman - Dogon - Mali
This magnificent sculpture, made using lost-wax casting, represents five slender figures, identified as princes, sons of the king. They are depicted seated in single file on the back of a mythical animal of the Dogon country, known by the name Calasso. The object is distinguished by an ancient, textured patina.
