DESIREABLE JOHN WELSEY HARDIN CALLING CARD WITH NOTARIZED LETTER John Wesley Hardin was one of the most feared gunman in Texas when he was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 1878 for the killing of Deputy Charlie Webb. While serving his sentence in Huntsville, he studied law and passed the bar after serving about 15 years of that sentence in 1894. He set up shop as an attorney in El Paso Texas in 1895, spending most of his time gambling at the saloons. During his few months as an El Paso lawyer, he did defend a close relative, Killer Jim Miller. before being shot dead by John Selman on August 19th in 1895.This genuine example of his famed calling card comes with a notarized letter from Robert McWillis , dated 1982, where he describes in detail his association with the Harding family and the complete history of this acquisition along with other Hardin artifacts. The card itself is standard business card in size listing his name, profession and office location and is in complete and excellent condition.
