Denver, Colorado. Rocky Mountain Stores Company. 1908 5 Cents. PMG Fine 12.

Denver, Colorado. Rocky Mountain Stores Company. 1908 5 Cents. PMG Fine 12. No. Unknown. An enigmatic item from Colorado dating to the early 1900s. This well-circulated piece of scrip issued by the Rocky Mountain Stores Company represents one of the many Colorado-based issuers that favored similar scrip notes like the Denver-based Colorado Supply Company or the Victor Coal & Coke Company in Trinidad. To that end, individual notes regardless of the issuer are often scarce to excessively rare in numismatic terms and this piece from Denver is no exception to the apparent norm making this a rare opportunity for the specialist who specializes in these financial relics that were "Not Intended to be Used as Money" per the guarantee text. Estimate: $700 - $1,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
