Dedar "Under Way 1963" - Cushion (2)

Two beautiful cushions handmade with Dedar fabric "Under Way 1963" (ref. T250460/001 - front) and Dedar fabric "Sinequanon" (ref. IT8007/031 - back). The fabric "Under Way 1963" created in collaboration with The Josef & Anni Albers Foundation. A line “that winds without destination,” to quote Albers, on a jacquard fabric composed of an assembly of yarns, weaves and colors. The wool thread improvises its trajectory on a cotton satin fabric and on jute warp, tracing a motif suspended between calligraphy and a carefree stroll. The thick wavy wool thread, woven with the coupé technique, together with the lively color palette and a skilled technique gives tridimensionality to an image that can be interpreted as a painting. The pronounced tactile aspect recalls the charm of hand weaving.
