Rare Art Nouveau Style Frosted Pink Opaline Soliflore Vase – Cadmium & Selenium Glass with Fiery Orange UV Glow – 26 cm Spectacular Collector’s Piece – Highly Reactive Glowing Selenium / Cadmium Art Glass An exceptional find for collectors of rare vintage art glass, Art Nouveau aesthetics, and UV-reactive glassware. This exquisite 26 cm tall pedestal soliflore vase combines refined craftsmanship with a striking optical phenomenon. Key Highlights & Features: Mesmerizing UV Reactivity: While appearing in a soft, elegant pastel gradient under natural light, the vase reveals its true secret under UV / Blacklight (365nm - 395nm): it ignites with an intense, fiery orange-to-ruby glow throughout the entire body. This intense fluorescence is the definitive hallmark of early Selenium and Cadmium sulphide formulation, making it highly desirable among "Glow Glass" and Uranium/Selenium glass enthusiasts. Design & Form: Silhouette: Classic slender soliflore / stem vase form mounted on a delicate circular pedestal foot. Rim: Masterfully finished with an undulating, organic ruffled / crimped rim (col festonné) characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. Surface Finish: Velvety frosted / satin finish (acid-etched opaline glass) that feels exceptionally smooth to the touch and diffuses light beautifully. Color Palette: Subtle and warm ombré dégradé transitioning seamlessly from soft powder pink at the neck to a rich, warm apricot-salmon tone towards the base. Specifications: Type: Soliflore Pedestal Vase (Vase Soliflore sur Piédouche) Material: Frosted Opaline Art Glass / Selenium-Cadmium Glass Style: Art Nouveau / Early 20th Century Aesthetic Height: Approx. 25.5 – 26 cm Diameter (Widest point): Approx. 6.5 cm Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition. No cracks, chips, fleabites, or restorations. The frosted surface remains clean and completely intact. Collector’s Note: Intact satin glass pieces with such uniform coloring, undamaged ruffled lips, and this degree of fiery selenium fluorescence are increasingly difficult to source across European decorative arts auctions. It makes an arresting showcase centerpiece both in daylight and under UV cabinet illumination.
