Decorative ornament - Italy - Cigar box

An antique pewter cabinet door, hand-worked and finely cast, in a Historicist Neo-Renaissance style dating to the late 19th century, around 1890. This specific model was historically used as the upper hinged lid for luxury cigar boxes (zigarrendose) or as a high-end ornamental element. The relief motif with floral finishes and the surrounding geometric perimeters (meander style) make it a highly sought-after collectible among lovers of the Neo-Renaissance Historismus genre.
