Decorative ornament - Burundi - African village scene

Magnificent decorative wall panel in solid wood sculpted in bas-relief. The scene depicts a male figure seated in profile, smoking a traditional pipe, against a backdrop of village houses with thatched roofs, finely worked. The border and the background are richly carved with gouge to give a beautiful effect of texture and depth.
