Decorative ornament - Aztec Warrior

Decorative head of an Aztec warrior, artisanal reproduction made in the second half of the 20th century, inspired by sculptural models from pre-Hispanic Mesoamerican cultures. The piece is crafted in **terracota** in an ochre tone with an aged patina that imitates the wear typical of an archaeological find. It represents a male head of a warrior or high-ranking figure, modeled with strong facial features: almond-shaped eyes, prominent nose, slightly open mouth, and large lateral ear ornaments. It highlights the wide headdress or ceremonial helmet that frames the top of the head, a characteristic element of pre-Hispanic warrior iconography. The surface shows irregularities, deposits, and color variations that aim to reproduce the appearance of an ancient piece. The sculpture sits mounted on an oval wooden base varnished, added for display as a decorative object.
