This iconic "Dr. Skud" fly-swatter was designed in 1998 by the world-renowned designer Philippe Starck for the famous Italian housewares brand Alessi. Made from high-quality grey thermoplastic resin, this piece perfectly embodies Starck's signature blend of functionality, humor, and poetic design. Unlike traditional, utilitarian fly-swatters that are hidden away in drawers, "Dr. Skud" is designed to be showcased. It features three subtle tripod feet at the base of its handle, allowing it to stand completely upright on your desk, kitchen countertop, or side table like a miniature tabletop sculpture. When moved or viewed against the light, the perforated pattern of holes on the swatter head cleverly reveals the subtle contour of a human face. Remarkably, this same pattern of perforations is used to create two distinct faces, one on each side of the swatter head, with each face looking in a different direction.
