ew series – Lost souls David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Prompted by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New series –Urban Geometry This series explores stylized urban landscapes through colored squares arranged in staircase compositions. Inspired by cubism, it plays with the repetition of shapes and the balance of volumes. Each work evokes an reinvented village, between architectural structure and poetic abstraction. The colors bring rhythm and warmth to these orderly constructions. The whole creates a contemporary and graphic vision of the city, both rigorous and lively. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Parcours Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops an author’s and musician’s career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
