David Law - Confluence II

ew series – Confluence David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer and artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in the urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront dummies, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the distinctive aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection. New series – Confluence Confluence explores the meeting of two bodies in a space where shapes merge with light. Male and female silhouettes draw nearer, entwine and respond to one another in plays of backlight and deep shadows. Faces disappear to give way to lines, curves and physical presence. An evocation of intimacy, attraction and encounter. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist's proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminium with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminium panels, with soft UV- and moisture-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops author/artist work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer and guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
