Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / David Law (1967) - Calimero - But it's an Injustice.
David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images Multidisciplinary photographer and author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetic of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost alive presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary re-reading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Thorough work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mount. Printing on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary look. Background Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a writer-artist and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
