Dante Alighieri – Comedy (Bodleian Library, Ms. Holkham Misc. 48) Facsimile Art Edition Treccani (2021) – Dante Centennial Splendid and exclusive facsimile reproduction of the famous Holkham Misc. 48 manuscript housed at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, published by the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani in 2021 on the occasion of the VII Centenary of Dante Alighieri's death. The original manuscript, dating to the late 14th century (circa 1390, Venetian-Padovan region), is considered one of the most richly illustrated and fascinating testimonies of the Divine Comedy. The work includes 135 splendid miniatures attributed to the "Master of the Boethius of London," which vividly illustration the Dantean journey. Facsimile Volume: Faithful reproduction of the original illuminated manuscript. Volume of Essays and Commentary: Accompanying scientific volume with critical, codicological, and artistic essays by eminent scholars. Coffer/Storage Case: Elegant presentation box in maple wood/MDF lacquered green, with metal/bronze-plated fittings and gilded decorations on the top panel. Conditions: Complete work with all original elements, kept in excellent condition, near new (see attached photos showing details of the binding, the miniatures, and the original case).
