Todas las subastas / Varios / Daniel Zuloaga - Sculpture, Motivo de gallo y paisaje - 15.5 cm - Ceramic
A magnificent glazed ceramic vase, issued from the prestigious Zuloaga workshop (Segovia, Spain), one of the most important names in Spanish ceramics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This piece stands out for its vibrant polychromy and the mastery of its technique. The vase features a continuous decoration that wraps around the entire piece, highlighted by a large multicolored rooster (blue, green, orange and red) executed with relief enamels. The scene is completed with other birds, branches with red berries, and floral motifs, all framed in a background landscape with violet-toned mountains and bluish skies. Technical and artistic details: - Technique: Polychrome enamels applied in relief, giving the motifs extraordinary texture and depth. - Background: It presents an exquisite craquelé finish (visible in the photographs), very characteristic of this type of piece, combined with subtle iridescent or metallic reflections in some areas of the glaze. - Signature: At the base the brand is clearly incised in the clay: ZULOAGA (see close-up photographs). Approximate dimensions: - Height: 15.5 cm - Maximum diameter: 15 cm - Mouth diameter: 9 cm Condition: The piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. It has no breaks or visible restorations. The glaze craquelure is part of the original firing process of the piece. Please examine all attached photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of the description and show the piece’s actual condition. Shipping: The vase will be packed with maximum care, using professional protective materials to ensure its integrity during transport, and will be sent by registered mail with tracking number.
