Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / Damien Hirst (1965) - The Currency
Damien Hirst Created in fine bone china, to mark the release of the world renowned artist Damien Hirst series of works entitled "The Currency", which features coloured dots, a technique which the artist is so well known for. English Fine Bone China, screen–printed with a vibrant Currency Dot design, featuring artworks from The Currency. Made in Stoke-on-Trent, a city world-renowned for its ceramic industry. Measuring ca7 cm - without box, in perfect condition. Damien Hirst transformed contemporary art into a bold reflection of market mechanics, orchestrating the historic 2008 single-artist auction Beautiful Inside My Head Forever to prove that provocative conceptualism could command unmatched financial authority. In this hyper-valuable landscape, Hirst shares blue-chip prestige with living powerhouses Jeff Koons and David Hockney, while abstract giants Gerhard Richter and Jasper Johns anchor global collections with intellectual rigor. Pop Art pioneers Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein established the mass-media visual playbook that Hirst later refined, just as the raw expressive energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Cy Twombly reflects the market's intense demand for post-war masterpieces. This financial momentum extends to the hypnotic cosmos of Yayoi Kusama, the color fields of Mark Rothko, and the existential depth of modern masters Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Vincent van Gogh, and Gustav Klimt. Furthermore, the classic rigor of Claude Monet and Leonardo da Vinci sets the ultimate price benchmarks at global auction houses, while the conceptual sharpness of Ed Ruscha and the pop-culture authority of KAWS and Banksy demonstrate how artistic branding—pioneered directly by Hirst—defines the upper echelons of the international art market.
