Original 1970s vintage furnishing fabric signed Donati Interior, characterized by a dense, tactile weave with a clear carpet-look effect. The compact geometric weave, typical of high-end furniture productions of that period, yields a surface rich, structured and deep, visually reminiscent of a woven rug while maintaining all the versatility of upholstery fabric. The DADA’ pattern, as indicated on the original label, offers a refined interpretation of the classic checkered motif: large blocks in forest green, gold yellow and ochre are crossed by thin lines in burgundy-red, creating a warm, sophisticated and decidedly decorative whole. The true peculiarity of this fabric is, however, its extraordinary texture. With a weight of about 900 grams per linear meter, it possesses notable body and structure: the different weaves and relief interlacings create a three-dimensional surface, pleasing to both sight and touch. Ideal for upholstering sofas, armchairs, seats, headboards, decorative panels and interior design projects with vintage, modernist or brutalist taste.
