Luvate, Preston, a mahogany wheel barometer the eight-inch round silvered dial having usual barometer markings, a blued-steel hand and brass marker, the case with inset hygrometer dial, thermometer, butler's mirror and level signed D, Luvate, Preston, Warranted, with boxwood edgelining and surmounted by a swan-neck pediment, height 98cm. Notes: Dominic Luvate is recorded as working at 43, Friargate from 1828, moving to number 27 in 1834 and still at this address in 1845.
