D.H. Chiparus - Sculpture, Elegante Art Deco dame op hoge kruk - 28 cm - Bronze

A particularly elegant and decorative sculpture of a seated lady, executed in a distinctive Art Deco style. The woman sits gracefully on a tall, slender stool and wears a characteristic wide-brimmed hat. Especially in the face, clothing, hands and folds there are many sculptural details processed. On the rear, the work is signed “D.H. Chiparus” and provided with a round maker/casting mark. The signature is described here only as it appears on the object; no additional guarantee regarding authorship or period is given.
