The sea, the dunes and the fishing life form an important source of inspiration for the Katwijk-based painter Cor Schaap (born 1968). Born and raised in the fishing village, he works along the coast on paintings in which the local landscape and the history of the region come together. Increasingly he also goes out to painting directly from observation outdoors. The light, the colors and the changing mood of the moment play an important role in this. The sea is different every day and continues to inspire. Beautiful works in oil on a high-quality wooden panel in a frame which the painter himself also made.
