Colorado, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 624. Colorado NB. Charter

Colorado, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 624. Colorado NB. Charter #2801. PCGS Banknote Fine 12. Representative of a community whose name may seem misplaced. This Mitchell County institution is nonetheless a distinct rarity among the litany of banks that represent communities named after states. Here in 2026 the National Bank Note Census records just 13 non-institutional notes on the Colorado National Bank (Charter# 2801) with this exact note standing as one of just two known survivors for this long-lived type that was spawned after the expiration of Aldrich-Vreeland in 1915. Here extant signatures attributable to Cashier Joe H. Smoot and (Vice) President J.M. Thomas remain distinct and lend this well-circulated and decidedly rare note a quality often lost to the Texas heat which should no doubt appeal to bidders. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
