Beautiful pair of carved wooden African statuettes, depicting two figures in elegant colonial-style outfits, with hats, jackets and trousers. The two figures distinguish themselves by their colorful costumes, one red and white, the other blue and white, as well as by their expressive faces and the hand-carved details. These sculptures testify to a popular figurative style in African art, blending social representation, humor and historical memory.
