Rare and highly decorative set of four substantial wall-mounted coat and hat hooks, made in Italy circa 1940–1955. Manufactured entirely from solid cast aluminium, these impressive hooks are a fine example of early Italian industrial design, combining functionality with remarkably sculptural and streamlined forms. Each piece features a large horizontal upper support, designed to accommodate coats, jackets or hats without excessively deforming the fabric, together with a smaller curved lower hook for additional garments or accessories. The generous proportions and particularly robust construction suggest that these hooks were originally designed for intensive use, possibly in a public, institutional or professional environment such as a school, office, workshop, factory changing room or communal cloakroom. Their design is especially attractive: the tapered central body flows organically into the broad T-shaped upper section, while the smaller lower hook is integrated into the same sculptural composition. The result is an unmistakably functional yet elegant piece of mid-20th-century Italian design. All four hooks are made from heavy cast aluminium and retain their authentic vintage surface, showing oxidation, scratches, small marks and traces of use consistent with their age. These signs have deliberately not been removed and contribute to their genuine industrial character and attractive original patina. Several original cast/stamped identification marks and numbers are visible on the reverse of the mounting plates, as documented in the photographs. The four pieces form a particularly attractive matching ensemble and can be installed individually with any desired spacing, making them ideal not only as functional coat hooks but also as distinctive architectural elements in a loft, entrance hall, dressing room, boutique, restaurant or industrial-style interior.
