Coat rack - Alloy

Antique Art Nouveau / Liberty Wall-Mounted Coat Rack – Early 20th Century A beautifully preserved antique wall-mounted coat rack, dating approximately to 1900–1925, featuring an elegant wooden backplate and two remarkable decorative metal swivel hooks. The beautifully shaped metal fittings, with their flowing curves and sculptural detailing, reflect the influence of the Art Nouveau / Liberty movement. The rectangular wooden panel features attractive natural grain, refined moulded edges and a wonderfully warm colour, enhanced by careful cleaning and treatment with traditional straw oil (olio paglierino). The two original-style metal hooks retain their charming aged patina, including areas of oxidation consistent with their age. Rather than detracting from the piece, these natural signs of time contribute to its authentic antique character. Each hook features an unusual elongated upper arm with a curled end and an elegantly shaped lower double hook. The swivelling construction adds both practicality and decorative appeal. Dimensions: Wooden backplate: 60 × 10 × 2 cm Metal hooks: approximately 9 × 18 cm each Two wall-mounting rings Condition: Very attractive antique condition, with age-related wear and oxidation. The wood has been carefully cleaned and nourished with straw oil, preserving its character and natural appearance. A distinctive and functional example of early 20th-century decorative craftsmanship, equally suitable for a traditional entrance hall, a vintage-inspired interior or an eclectic contemporary home. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
