Never framed, never exposed. - Size: 59 x 80cm. - Claude Monet (1840–1926) was a French painter and the leading figure of Impressionism, a movement that transformed modern art through its focus on light, atmosphere, and everyday scenes. Monet rejected academic conventions, instead painting outdoors (en plein air) to capture fleeting effects of sunlight, weather, and color. His loose brushwork and vibrant palette became hallmarks of Impressionist style and strongly influenced generations of artists. Monet’s works are among the most highly valued in the art market. Major paintings regularly achieve tens of millions of euros at international auctions, reflecting his importance in art history and the constant demand from top collectors. His water lilies, haystacks, and river landscapes are especially prized. Poppy Field in Argenteuil (1873) is one of Monet’s most iconic Impressionist paintings. It depicts a sunlit meadow filled with red poppies, with elegant figures strolling through the landscape. The composition emphasizes movement, light, and natural color harmony, using quick, visible brushstrokes to suggest breeze and depth. This work perfectly embodies Monet’s ability to transform a simple rural scene into a luminous, atmospheric moment, making it a key example of early Impressionism. Some artists of similar importance, Basquiat, Hockney, Lichtenstein, Sorolla, Banksy, Brainwash, Delaunay, Nara, Soulages, Lagasse, Ramos, Rothko, Lautrec, Klimt, Matisse, Hirst, Chagall, Koons, Haring, Indiana, Mondrian, Groening, Richter, Monroe, Kusama, Murakami, Coa, Hopper, Ripolles, Wesselmann, Magritte, Jenk, Orlinski, Wille, Rizzi, Manara, Thiebaud, Herrera, Laurent, Klein, Dior, Vuitton, Kaws, Cappiello, Kandinsky, Warhol, Buffa, Tura, Castle, Katz, Braque, among others.
