The classic solitaire ring, that is, a ring with only one precious stone, is said to date back to a design by the famous jeweller Tiffany & Co. in 1886. Today, this form of ring has become the epitome of the engagement ring, because in it is bundled all the symbolism that we expect from a piece of jewellery with which a promise is made.
