Christofle - Orfèvrerie Gallia - Teapot - 4204 - Silverplated - Louis XV Rococo

A magnificent French Belle Époque coffee pot produced by the celebrated Orfèvrerie Gallia, the prestigious silver division of Christofle, one of the most respected names in French luxury silverware. Crafted around 1895–1905, this elegant coffee server perfectly embodies the flowing Rococo revival of the Louis XV style. Every surface is richly decorated with graceful spiral fluting, scrolling foliage, asymmetrical cartouches, and finely sculpted shell motifs resting on four elegant feet. Its refined proportions, beautifully curved pouring spout, and sculptural silhouette create a striking display piece while remaining entirely functional for serving coffee or tea. Unlike many surviving examples that have been heavily polished over decades, this piece retains its original naturally developed antique patina. The surface displays beautiful iridescent blue, violet, and champagne tones that only genuine aged silver plate acquires through more than a century of careful preservation. Collectors often consider this untouched historical finish highly desirable because it reflects authenticity rather than restoration. The original insulated handle retains both factory bone spacers in excellent condition, while the original integrated strainer remains fitted inside the spout. The lid closes securely, the hinge operates smoothly without looseness, and the elegant proportions remain perfectly preserved. The underside bears the authentic Gallia production marks, including Model No. 4204, Size 4, the Gallia Metal hallmark, and the Alfred Alfenide diamond trademark. Matching internal workshop assembly marks are still visible on both sides of the hinge, confirming original factory assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire an authentic Christofle Gallia coffee pot from the golden years of French decorative arts—equally suitable for advanced silver collectors, refined table settings, or sophisticated interior decoration.
