Christ Child - Christ Child (Punk) - LP album...

Christ Child – Christ Child (Buddah Records – BDS 5700) made in USA original 1977 1st pressing LP | vinyl: NM (near mint) | cover: excellent (close to NM) --> Punk Christ Child is a 1977 self-titled rock and punk LP released on Buddah Records. The album is a studio project created by Dick Monda (known for "Daddy Dewdrop") and Michael Paul Girard. Formed and released in Los Angeles, California in 1977, and disbanded the same year. Music historians and collectors often label the record as "fake punk", created as a commercial attempt to cash in on the late-1970s punk rock movement, which did not work. Still a very enjoyable album! Some Internet quotes! -- Add me to the list of Christ Child admirers. This was more punk than a good portion of bands popping up in that scene around the same time. For two guys who were essentially newbies to the whole idea of punk, they nailed it. Killer songwriting, sonics, a little bit of chaos and loads of attitude. I just wished they had recorded more material. -- Luv the riff to Washington A.C./D.C. wish someone cool like Flipper had written it but they didn't -- Yep, count me in with some of the other positive reviews here—I love this record. Yes, it obviously has a kitsch element but so do The Plasmatics, etc. Who cares? Every song is great. -- While some people have negative reactions to this record, I think it's pretty neat. I mean how cool is it to see a punk band on the same label that released "Yummy Yummy Yummy". While it does bring nothing new to the table, it's still a pretty kick-ass record that I am not ashamed to have in my collection!! -- Nah, this is great, Haters keep quiet, just listen to the music
