A fine Chinese 19th-century lacquered wood low table (coffee table/tea table), featuring a glass-protected inset rectangular top panel richly embellished in raised relief with hardstone and semi-precious stone inlays (Baibaoan technique). The decorative composition depicts stylized archaistic vases, flowering chrysanthemum sprigs, and botanical branches carved from varied stones including jade, steatite (soapstone), and quartz. The central field is further inlaid with carved bone or hardstone calligraphic Chinese characters (inscriptions), all framed within a molded dark hardwood rim.
