CHINA. Dollar, Year 23 (1934). Shanghai Mint. PCGS MS-65. L&M-110; K-624; KM-Y-345; WS-0146. A resounding Gem survivor exhibiting dramatic, intense swirling luster through the fields, the surfaces entirely argent and untoned. Some slight planchet roughness is visible from the large portrait not being fully struck up, a relatively common feature for the type, but other than those areas there are extraordinarily few post-mint marks or detractions visible. A lovely representative of the famed "Junk Dollar" type. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS. Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA.
