We present a magnificent pair of authentic Beijing Chinese rugs, ideal as bedside floor mats and completely handmade during the 1950s–1960s period. Both pieces are crafted in high-quality wool on a cotton backing. They feature an interesting traditional Chinese design, headed by a central dragon and accompanied by stylized bats, oriental symbols of good fortune. The border is decorated with Shou medallions, related to longevity, and traditional geometric motifs. They are kept in very good condition considering their age. They only show the loss of some fringes on one of their ends, as can be seen in the photographs. A light professional cleaning is recommended to remove accumulated dust and refresh the pile.
