Chess set - Diseño Italiano - Marble

Magnificent Italian design chess set made of polychromed marble, a piece that combines the nobility of stone materials with the artisanal quality characteristic of Italian decorative manufacturing from the second half of the 20th century. Beyond its playful function, it presents itself as an elegant decorative object capable of occupying a prominent place in any library, office, or living room. The board, measuring about 36 cm per side, is crafted with a refined combination of light marble and reddish veining, creating an attractive color contrast that enhances the natural beauty of the stone. The set is framed by a wooden structure with a hinged lid that conceals a practical inner compartment for storing the pieces, allowing them to be kept tidy and protected when not in use. The pieces, entirely carved in marble, stand out for their sculptural design and excellent visual presence. The game features two differentiated tones, one in creamy marble and the other in dark red marble, both carefully polished to highlight the vein patterns and natural variations of the material. The kings reach an approximate height of 8 cm and bear a signature on their bases, a detail that adds collecting interest and reinforces the artisanal and exclusive character of the set. The chess set also includes queen pieces made likewise in marble, completing all playing possibilities and increasing the versatility of the set. The combination of natural stone, wood, and balanced design makes this piece an elegant example of the Italian taste for high-quality decorative functional objects. It is in good overall condition, with light signs of use consistent with its age. A distinguished and appealing set that blends craftsmanship, design, and functionality, ideal both for chess lovers and for collectors of marble decorative objects and 20th-century Italian design. Certified shipping and good packaging.
