About the wine Promoted to *Premier Grand Cru Classé* status in 1855, Château Guiraud is produced from the finest terroirs in Sauternes. The blend consists of Sémillon (65%) and Sauvignon Blanc (35%), grown using organic farming methods since 2011. The vines thrive on the gravelly soils characteristic of Bordeaux's Left Bank. Yields are low, sometimes dropping below 10 hl/ha. The grapes are meticulously sorted and harvested to select only those affected by the famous "noble rot," which is essential for Bordeaux's sweet wines. In the cellar, fermentation takes place in oak barrels—mostly new—over a period of three to six weeks. Maturation follows in barrels and lasts approximately 18 months. Château Guiraud’s style is flamboyant: rich, highly aromatic, and perfectly balanced. In its youth, it displays aromas of exotic fruit and citrus. As it ages, it develops characteristic notes of saffron and bitter orange marmalade. It is a superb wine that ages gracefully.
