Chanel (French, founded 1910), 1998 - 1999. Vintage hard case bag with peach pink jersey exterior fabric, two built in cut out handles, push lock top closure, large metal CC logo circles to both exterior sides, fabric lined interior with mesh dividers and corset style lace up compartment, and detachable metal link strap with CC logos throughout. Designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1998, the "Millenium 2005" or "Butt" bag was hailed as a futuristic design for the turn of the millennium. Commercial release came in 2005. Marked appropriately, "Made in France" to interior fabric tab, date code 5686XXX to interior indicating a production date of 1997 - 1999. Accompanied by authenticity card. Approximate dimensions: 10 1/4 x 13 x 5 1/4 in. (26 x 33 x 13.3 cm.) Provenance: Private Collection, Forsyth, GA.
