CGR - Hat stand - Wood - Mid Century

Wall-mounted coat rack from modern art era, CGR Italia - lacquered brass and marbled Formica - 1950s/1960s Fascinating and rare wall-mounted coat panel, an authentic piece of Italian mid-century modern design dating to the late 1950s / early 1960s. This furniture accessory perfectly embodies the eclectic elegance of the period, blending the rigor of Mid-Century design with neo-Gothic echoes, ideal for Boho-Chic, Vintage, or Hollywood Regency style interiors. The supporting framework is made from very hard, heavy, solid antique solid wood, guaranteeing excellent structural robustness. The front panel is veneered with the classic, iconic Formica of the era, featuring a refined glossy marbleized cream/champagne finish. Three splendid triple-prong hooks attributed to the famous CGR Italia manufacturer stand out on it. The hooks are cast metal with brass plating and a distinctive dark forest green lacquer, with gracefully sinuous and highly sought-after geometric lines by collectors. The back shows the solid wooden board with its contemporaneous metal mounting hooks. Structurally excellent, intact and very solid. It shows a beautiful patina of time on the brass parts and slight signs of wear consistent with age and use, which attest to its authenticity and enhance the vintage charm. Rear mounting hooks with traces of surface oxidation (as in the photo).
