Centrepiece - Silver

Splendid and refined centerpiece (low stand) in the shape of a blossomed corolla, entirely handmade with the intricate technique of silver filigree. The piece features an extremely rich pierced work, with spiral motifs, botanical details and roses within each lobe, arranged radially around a central geometric medallion. The item is free of origin marks, a very common characteristic for antique filigree from this area, as the delicate weave left no flat surfaces suitable for stamping. However, the metal has been successfully tested with a chemical reagent on a reference stone, confirming its authenticity in solid silver. As visible in the detailed photographs, the item presents some structural defects: an old restoration weld on the upper edge (between two petals) and some gaps with interruptions in the weave of the fine silver threads inside one of the radial sections. The piece retains all its antique charm and collectible appeal.
