Carved Rock Crystal Parrot with Vibrant Red Quartz...

Collection of Birds: Winged Splendors — This sculpture of remarkable size and strong visual impact comes from Brazil, a nation famous for its mineral wealth and its tradition in lapidary art. The work depicts a parrot finely carved in quartz, posed with elegance on a massive amethyst geode. This creation unites artisanal craftsmanship with the primordial beauty of the mineral world, giving life to a rare harmonious collectible piece. The bird has been sculpted with meticulous attention to detail. The body is made of milky quartz, or rock crystal, whose translucent milkiness allows one to appreciate the internal textures that the artist has managed to exploit to simulate the texture of the plumage. The surface is incised with delicate strokes that define the wings, giving the specimen considerable realism. The curved beak and the accent on the tail, crafted in a red stone, create a lively chromatic focal point, while the eyes lend expressiveness to the figure. The parrot is firmly anchored to a natural base of exceptional value: a vertical section of an amethyst geode. The exterior reveals the original basaltic crust, with green and gray hues, a testament to its volcanic origin. In the center, a deep cavity opens up, entirely lined with amethyst crystals. The crystal points, well-formed and of an intense and saturated violet, capture the light, creating countless sparkles. The contrast between the smooth surface of the parrot and the rough texture of the crystals is the aesthetic heart of the piece. Superb example of Brazilian lapidary craftsmanship, this piece qualifies as an object of great value, destined to become the centerpiece of any setting. It is an ideal item to enrich a mineral collection, a contemporary Wunderkammer, or to embellish a study or library. Its dual nature, a work of art and a natural wonder, makes it a fascinating conversation subject and a natural history piece to display and admire.
