Ancient sugar shaker from the Vienna workshop Carl Wermuth, 1850s. (Maker's mark “CW” under a crown in a horizontal oval confirmed). Solid silver. Stamped with the official old Austrian duty mark or Radl punch (cross shield). Assayed at 13 loth (finest 812.5 / 1000 real silver). Elegant, baluster-shaped body on a curved, profiled stand. The wall is divided into pronounced vertical folds (flutings). The panels are masterfully hand-worked with repoussé and finely chased rosettes, floral scrolls, tendrils and fine punch decorations (grained field).
